Our October 2013 presentation was…

The effusive Lea Alcantara.

In the age of reality TV, social media and information overload, how do you communicate who you are in the most genuine way possible? Is it even possible?

In Getting to Know Brand You, Lea will break down what branding actually is and walk you through a branding exercise. You’ll learn it’s really all about helping everyone — family and friends, colleagues, clients, employers, and peers — understand who you are.

Our Presenter, Lea Alcantara

Lea designs and develops websites with sass and class. She is currently Lead Designer for Emily Lewis Design, and was previously creative principal of Lealea Design. For several years, she has been an active member of the web community, contributing through a wide variety of channels from teaching Interface Design at MacEwan University to sharing her expertise at top industry conferences across North America, including SXSW and Future of Web Design.

She’s written for various web publications, such as A List Apart and .net magazine with a focus on branding and design. She co-hosts CTRL+CLICK CAST, a tech podcast focusing on content management systems along with the industry culture, business practices, and web design and development techniques that surround them. After the event, we’ll be partying down at a lovely place to be determined prior to the event.

Our Venue, ISITE Design

ISITE Design is our home for the next 11 months (at least!) and we’re very happy to be there. ISITE is located at 2030 NW Pettygrove St, Portland, OR 97209.

Parking is available on the street and across the street in the Conway parking lot. Conway allows ISITE to use the lot after 5pm, so no worries on towing!

Come on in the front door and go straight back to the conference room on the left.
